Stelarc: Creating an Exhibit for Science Gallery Melbourne

Science Gallery Melbourne

“I often say that ideas are easy, but to actualise those ideas takes a collaboration”.

Performance artist STELARC worked with an interdisciplinary group of collaborators from across The University of Melbourne to bring ‘Anthropomorphic Machine’ to life. The outcome of his residency at Science Gallery Melbourne, this interactive sculpture is now on view as part of their exhibition SWARM.

STELARC is an Australian performance artist exploring the intersection between the human body and technology. His projects explore alternative anatomical architectures, including a Third Hand, an Extended Arm, a 6-legged walking robot and an Extra Ear constructed on his arm.
